The Gorham Arts Alliance is offering many activities this summer for those of all ages. Summer theater camp productions include “Willy Wonka Jr.” Gr. 4-8; “Singin’ in the Rain,” Gr. 7-12; and “Alice in Wonderland,” Gr. 3-6. They are excited to launch the new Performing Arts Center in the fall of 2024, located at 34 School St. Gorham. “I feel grateful to have the opportunity to nurture artists from the inside out,” stated Kristi Grand, Artistic Managing Director for the Performing Arts Center. The Gorham Performing Arts Center will offer an afterschool program for grades 3-8 teaching kids everything there is to know about the production process including backstage, lighting, tech and offering classes in improv, acting, auditioning, vocals, dance and more.

The GAA has an amazing performance season starting with the first ever unified production of “Cinderella.” This production will embrace people with different abilities whether that be cognitive or physical. It will be centered around those with different abilities, but auditions are also open to the public. Other productions in the 24/25 season include “The Wizard of Oz”, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” and “Oliver”.

The Art-Nature Center located at 10 Wentworth Drive, Gorham, will be offering many camps this summer for Gr. K-8 which includes art, nature, music, poetry, sound art, digital design, science and many more. “We are excited to get out there, get messy and have a good time.” stated Christina Thibault, director of the Art and Nature Center.

“I’m excited for the expansion of the Gorham Arts Alliance into two locations to further engage Gorham residents and those in our neighboring communities”, stated Amy Valentine, executive director.
