Per Governor Mills’ Executive Order and as part of continued social distancing efforts, the State Primary and Special Referendum Election previously scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 14.
The election has been called for the purpose of electing candidates for United States Senator, Representative to Congress (both districts), all 35 State Senate districts, all 151 State Representative districts, and the following county offices, which vary depending on the county: Judge of Probate, Register of Probate, County Treasurer, Register of Deeds, Sheriff, District Attorney and County Commissioner.
Secretary of State, Matthew Dunlap, encourages absentee voting as a proven and safe way to vote and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. You may request an absentee ballot by calling the Town Clerk’s Office, visiting the Town Clerk’s office once reopened, or requesting one online.
To be counted, a voted absentee ballot must be delivered to the Town Clerk’s Office no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day. Any absentee ballots received after this time will not be counted.
