The Gorham School Department has approved its new staff for the upcoming 2020/21 school year. If you see these new faces around school, make sure to say hello.

Collette Andreasen is a nurse at Narragansett Elementary School, replacing Teresa Merrill, who retired. She has a B.S. in nursing from Allen College, IA.

Rachel Bell is a fourth-grade teacher at Village Elementary School, replacing Erin Eppler, who moved to Narragansett as the new assistant principal. She has a B.A. in political science and a M.S. in teaching and learning, both degrees from University of Southern Maine (USM).

Thomas Burnham is a Gorham Middle School (GMS) behavior classroom special education teacher, replacing Brianna DiDonato, who resigned. He has a B.A. in secondary social studies teacher from University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) and a M.S. in special education from Cambridge College.

Courtney Burns is a social worker at Narragansett, replacing Jane Meggison, who retired. She has a B.S. in social work from Harding University in Searcy, AZ and a M.S. in social work from University of New England (UNE).

Colleen Chausse is a Latin teacher at Gorham High School (GHS), replacing Michael Lawrenson, who retired. She has a B.A. in Greek and Latin and a M.A. teaching Latin and classical humanities, both degrees from Tufts.

Shawneen Coffin is a kindergarten teacher at Narragansett in a new position due to increased enrollment. She has a B.S. in early childhood education from UMF.

Miles Douglass is a 4/5 grade teacher at Narragansett, replacing Beth Kellogg, who resigned to take a principal position in NH. He has a B.A. in political science and a M.S. in education (ETEP program), both degrees from USM.

Lindsay Ely is a seventh-grade social studies and science teacher at GMS, replacing Sarah Rubin, who resigned. She has a B.A. in psychology and a M.S. in education, both degrees from USM.

Erin Eppler is an assistant principal at Narragansett in a new position. She has a B.S. in elementary education and a M.Ed. in educational leadership, both degrees from Northern Arizona University.

Deanna Etienne is an assistant principal at Great Falls, replacing Stacey Sawyer who moved to a teaching counselor position at Narragansett. She has a B.S. and M.S. in early childhood education, both degrees from UMF.

Kevin Greene is a resource room teacher at GMS, replacing Amy Spagnoli, who moved to a math lab position at Narragansett. He has a B.A. in English from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and a M.A. in teaching special education from Regis College.

Lauren Hebert is a part-time school nurse at GHS in a new position for the 2020/21 school year due to Joyce LaRou’s request to move to part-time. She has a B.S. in nursing from Saint Joseph’s College (St. Joe’s).

Theresa Hendrix is a health teacher at GMS in a new position. She has a B.S. in physical education and exercise science from St. Joe’s.

Michele Higgins is a physical education teacher at GMS, replacing Denny Albert, who moved to the full-time health position left by Martha LaViolet’s retirement. She has a B.S. in sports management from UNE and a M.S. in education from Old Dominion University, VA.

Amy Hughes is a resource room teacher at Narragansett in a new position for the 2020/21 school year due to increasing enrollments and identified caseloads. She has a B.S. in child development from University of Maine at Orono (UMO).

Peter Krahe is a one-year math teacher at GHS, replacing Scott Becker, who is taking a one-year unpaid leave. He has a B.A. in psychology from Stonehill College, MA and a M.S. in education (ETEP program) from USM.

Kathleen Miller is a speech pathologist at Village in a new position due to increased caseloads. She has a B.S. and M.S. in communication sciences and disorders, both degrees from UNH.

Lauren Lamanna is a speech and language pathologist at Narragansett, replacing Carlie Gieger, who resigned. She has a B.S. in speech and hearing from Elmira College, NY and a M.S. in speech and language pathology from Northeastern University.

Cooper Power is a district-wide .5 adaptive physical education teacher in a new position. He has a B.S. and M.Ed. in exercise kinesiology, both degrees from UMO.

Keli Ruby is a resource room teacher at Village, resulting from eliminating two educational technicians and replacing with one teaching position due to caseload shifts. She has a B.S. in special education from UMF and a M.S. in special education from Northcentral University.

Ian Ryan is a social studies teacher at GHS, replacing Shauna Dunn, who took a one-year unpaid leave last year and then retired. He has a B.A. in history from the University of Connecticut and a M.A. in secondary education social studies from Fairfield University.
