After two years of quarantine, social distancing and quiet, the Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine (USM) is ending this 2021-22 school year with community and music. There will be student, faculty, and guest performances all of April.
Kicking off the month right, at 8 p.m. on April 1, located at Corthell Hall on the Gorham Campus, there will be a Faculty Concert Series: Portland Brass Quintet.
On April 2, the USM Concert Band will be performing their Spring ‘22 concert at 2 p.m. at at McCormack Performing Arts Center.
On April 13, the USM Jazz Combo will be performing their Spring ‘22 concert at 7 p.m. at One Longfellow Square, Portland, ME.
The next day, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center, the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra will also be performing their Spring ‘22 concert.
Opera Workshop will hold two performances, Friday, April 15 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m. April 22, the USM Jazz Ensemble will be performing their Spring ‘22 concert at 8 p.m. at Corthell Hall. On April 25, the USM Youth Ensemble will be performing their Spring ‘22 concert at 7 p.m. at Merrill Auditorium.
USM Vocal Jazz Ensembles will have their Spring ‘22 performance at 7:30 p.m. at Corthell Hall.
Along with all of these exciting performances, the Osher School of Music will be hosting many other events throughout the next month. There will be student recitals, studio recitals, masters recitals and masterclasses. The events calendar has nearly no empty days in April.
