Narragansett Elementary School recently celebrated One School, One Book with an author event, celebrating Anna Crowley Redding’s new book: “Courage Like Kate – the true story of a girl lighthouse keeper.” The school held a K-5 assembly, where Anna read her nonfiction title, shared how she conducted her research and answered many of our students’ questions. Narragansett School also offered students a STEM challenge: to build the strongest lighthouse at home and bring it to school. We tested their lighthouse structures to see how much wind each could resist. All three of these lighthouses stood the test of gale force winds (highest box fan setting). Congratulations, Kylee, Livia and Kinsley!
