Jennifer Kenneally and Zach Lambert have joined the staff at the Gorham Parks and Recreation Department. Kenneally is the Office Manager and Lambert is the Community Recreation and Events Manager.
Kenneally is the first smiling face you see as you enter the office. With 10 years of experience running her own marketing company, she is the person responsible for advertising, marketing and social media. Customer service is important to the Department, as is her role to assist with office duties and to help the other three staff members provide outstanding services to the Town.
Kenneally also enjoys helping in planning events, and making arrangements for trips and travel sponsored by the Recreation Department. She said, “It takes a lot of organization, marketing, planning, marshalling volunteers and community involvement to provide great recreational opportunities.”
Originally from Rumford, Kenneally has a Masters degree in Public Administration from Norwich University. “My experience in Gorham has been wonderful. I am so fortunate to have great leadership and a team that I enjoy working with.”
Zach Lambert is responsible for community recreation, including designing and scheduling of multiple types of programs and events for all ages. He also is point person for large annual Town events such as the Turkey Trot race and the Festival of Lights parade, and other seasonal events.
Lambert enjoys the great dynamics of working with the Recreation Department team. “We are all Swiss Army knives, meaning that everyone here has many talents and we all pitch in,” he said.
Lambert has a degree in Marketing with a concentration in economics, as well as a Masters in Public Administration. Prior to joining Gorham Recreation, Lambert worked in the Recreation program in Marlborough, Massachusetts and then served as the Program Manager at the University of New England.
Lambert said, “Gorham offers many opportunities for recreation. There are great facilities, parks and trails for hiking and biking. I’d like to continue to expand programs and event offerings for exciting leisure activities.”
He added that the plans for the skate park are moving forward at Narragansett. Along with the ice rink, fields, trails, and potentially a basketball/pickleball court in the future, this area is becoming a recreation hub for the Town.
