In spite of Covid-19 and the Labor Day weekend, three local firefighters dressed in full gear to run the Stephen Ward Memorial 5K (which is virtual this year) on September 6. With family, friends, and community members cheering them on, they continued the tradition of running in honor of the firefighters and first responders who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Members of the crowd supported the firefighters by joining them for portions of the course or stopping to give them water, apples and applause.
