As a response to the tragic events in Lewiston, The Gorham High School Interact Club board of directors (Advisor Neile Nelson, Chloe Blanchard, Julia Wareham, Addison Harjula and Ashley Connolly) decided to partner with Catalyst for Change Wear through a “Just a Kid from Gorham” tshirt and hoodie fundraiser to raise money for two separate organizations.
Ashley Connolly has this to add “We are really hoping that the “Just a Kid From Gorham” gear will really unite our Gorham community, and the money we raise is going to both the greater Lewiston community through the Maine Community Fund as well as the Community Action 4 Mental Health Initiative. Our club very much values helping those people in need at this time”.
50% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly from the Gorham High School Interact Club to The Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund, created by the Maine Community Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) address current and emerging needs associated with the recent tragedy. With the Maine Community Foundation as a conduit, 100% of every dollar donated to that fund will be allocated to people impacted and the organizations that will help guide Lewiston-Auburn through the process of healing.
The other 50% of the proceeds will benefit the Community Action 4 Mental Health Initiative, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Gorham dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and improving access to care.
From Nov. 1 to Nov. 17, the GHS Interact Club will be selling “Just a Kid from Gorham” t-shirts and hoodies. Members of the community may order using the link: www.cfcwear.com/gorham.
