A special election will be held January 11, 2022, to fill the District 27 legislative seat vacated by Kyle Bailey.

District 27 includes Wards 1-1 and 1-2 in Gorham and parts of Scarborough. Ward 1 voters will vote at the Gorham Middle School; Ward 1-2 will vote at Great Falls Elementary School.

Voters can request absentee ballots online or by calling the Town Clerk’s office. Ballots will be mailed mid-December.

Candidates running for the position are Jim Boyle (D), Suzanne Phillips (unenrolled), and Tim Thorson (R). Phillips is currently on the Town Council but, if elected, could serve in both positions.

The winning candidate will fill the District 27 term that expires at the end of 2022.
