The sixth annual Gorham’s Got Talent, hosted by the GHS Class of 2019, was held on March 31 at Gorham Middle School. A capacity crowd was on hand to watch 40 Gorham students from grades 3-12 perform in 32 acts of singing, dancing, acting, and comedy.
Sixth grader Emelia Bailey was the $100 first-place winner of the event singing “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” from the Broadway musical “Phantom of the Opera.”
In a very close competition, there was a three-way tie for second place between seventh grader Annikka Mocciola, singing “Naughty,” from the musical “Matilda,” eleventh grader Kali Perry, singing Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours,” with friend Paul Hunt, and ninth grader Julie Cooper, singing and playing ukulele for Grace Vanderwaal’s “I Don’t Know My Name.”
Upon further deliberation by the judges, second place ($75) was awarded to Annikka Mocciola and third place ($50) was awarded to Kali Perry. Seventh grader Ethan Ho was the People’s Choice winner, singing Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”
