Seniors Grace Flynn and Mary Gawlick were awarded the Gorham Times Scholarships this year. Both volunteered their time as student writers for the Gorham Times.
Flynn interned for the paper for three years and has been a huge asset to the staff. She was a great liaison between the schools and the paper, always a dependable, hard-working member of our team. Even when a story was requested at the last minute she would produce an excellent article.
“In February, it was important to highlight activities to educate folks about Black History. I realized last minute that nothing came in for the upcoming paper about this. When I reached out to our writers, Grace responded so quickly and wrote a wonderful piece about a speaker series at the high school,” said Christie Paul, Gorham Times Editor.
This was the first year Gawlick interned for the paper. “She was very willing to cover any topic asked of her this year,” said School News editor, Andrea Morrell. “Her articles were informative and well-written, and she always met her deadline.”
She enjoyed writing about school and learning more about the Gorham community.
Gorham Times Staff would like to extend a huge thank you to these interns and wish them well in the next steps of their journeys.
