The Gorham Community Chorus is a non-audition community group that meets weekly to sing together. It is made up of singers of all ages. They will begin again next September, meeting Monday nights at Gorham Middle School and welcome singers of all levels and ages to join them. Director John Rimkunas picked the first song, How Can I Keep From Singing? to reflect the time away from singing and performing as a group. The chorus presented eight songs, each picked specifically by John to reflect resiliency, love and support. The chorus was accompanied by Eric Peppe on piano.

In addition the barber shop quartet, Points North, performed a set of gorgeous harmonizations during the intermission. This Portland-area group members are Jonas Rimkunas (tenor), Ryan Norfleet (lead), Chris Cutler-Wood (baritone) and Mike Soper (bass) and was formed through a love of singing.

The chorus’ final song, Go Out With Joy, a triumphant song written by 95-year-old Hank Beebe of Portland, was the perfect exclamation for this group’s return to the stage.
