On May 8, the Boosters will hold their annual election for positions within the Board of Directors at the GHS library from 6:30-8:00 pm. The organization is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) and a separate entity from the Gorham school Department. Although a separate organization, the purpose of the Boosters is to help raise funds to support Gorham High School’s Athletic programs and the student athletes to help meet the needs beyond the school department’s annual budgeted amount. The work is done by a group of volunteers within the community and mostly made up of the parents of high school students. The group meets monthly and has three major fundraisers throughout the school year.
The following positions are open for nomination: Vice President, Concessions Manager and Treasurer. Other positions to be voted on are Secretary, President, Team Liaison Coordinator, Members at Large. Fundraising & Communications are shared duties of all Board Members. The election of Board members will be held at the end of the monthly meeting on May 8. The announcement of the Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 school year will be during the June meeting and they begin their role on July 1, 2017.
