Gorham proudly announces the appointment of Deputy Public Works Director Terry Deering as the Town’s Public Works Director. He joined the Town’s management team effective May 2, 2022.
Town Manager Ephrem Paraschak appointed Deering as Acting Public Works Director in December 2021 to fill the vacant position resulting from the departure of the former Public Works Director Robert Burns earlier in the month.
During his time as Acting Public Works Director, Deering managed the department very well while demonstrating outstanding leadership, excellent communication, and effective critical thinking skills.
Deering has served the Gorham community and Gorham Public Works as Deputy Public Works Director for over 33 years, further solidifying his invaluable knowledge of the department’s operations.
“I look forward to leading the Public Works department, and working with the other departments and Town officials,” said Deering. “We will strive to move forward in a positive proactive manner and try to keep up with the Town as it grows. I feel very fortunate to be working with a great group of people.”
Paraschak shared, “I am pleased to see a hard-working, dedicated employee like Terry achieve a well-deserved promotion. I have every confidence that he will perform well in his new role as Public Works Director, and lead the department to meet the needs of our growing community.”
