Gorham Middle School (GMS) began its inaugural season of Unified Basketball this year. Students in GMS’s Functional Life Skills program teamed up with other GMS students to form the middle school’s very first Unified Basketball team.
The first game of the year was a rousing success as the team hosted the unified team from Gorham High School, a program after which the GMS program was modeled.
The GMS Rams then traveled to Scarborough and played an exciting game against that school’s unified squad.
On March 24, the Rams hosted Biddeford in a high-scoring game, with each team scoring over 40 points.
The Rams then ended their season in Saco on March 29. This game ended with a buzzer-beating basket that tied the score.
The Gorham Rams worked together throughout the season to get everyone involved in the action during each game. Regardless of the score, the gymnasium was always filled with cheering fans and warm smiles all around.
GMS is very proud of our students, athletes and staff who continue to do amazing things in the classroom as well as on the fields and courts.
