Students from Mrs. Gospodarek’s science classes worked with Inverness Research and Brown Barn Studios who are shooting a short documentary about the scientific practice of modeling as part of the Developing Modeling Orientation in Science project through the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland (GMRI). https://extension.umaine.edu/hancock/4h/tick-project/

The video documentary will feature teachers and students in the field and in the classroom collecting and analyzing data from local ecosystems including crabs and ticks. Some ticks were found and the students had a great time using quantitative and qualitative thinking while documenting their learning in the pond area behind GMS.”
