D-Gorham

After nearly three years in office, Dec. 4 was officially my last day as a state representative serving the people of Gorham. Although it is difficult to believe that my time in the Legislature has ended, serving as our community’s voice in Augusta has been an honor and a privilege.

Over the last several years, my colleagues and I have worked hard to address so many of the issues that matter most to Gorham families. I’m proud of what the state has been able to accomplish, including providing further support for affordable housing developments, expanding access to childcare services and fulfilling Maine’s commitment to funding 55% of K-12 public education costs, among other important initiatives.

I’ve also had the privilege to sit on the Legislature’s Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee, where we worked on policies to increase clean energy production and improve our state’s utilities. On the committee, my colleagues and I have also worked diligently to find long-term and sustainable strategies to address the climate crisis head-on.

While these are just a few of the policies I have been privileged to support, I know our state continues to face many challenges, including a rising cost of living that is making it hard for regular families to make ends meet. I remain committed to continuing to advocate for our community as a private citizen.

Going forward, Representative Ellie Sato has been elected to serve in the 132nd Legislature in the seat that I held, and I am confident she will excel in her new role. I cannot wait to see what she will accomplish on behalf of our community in Augusta. My time as a legislator has been one of the greatest joys of my life and that is because of you; my constituents. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do for you.
