The annual Burn off the Turkey 2022 5K event took place on Saturday, Nov 26, 2022. Over 240 participants finished the race.

Racers are ready and waiting to run in the 25th annual Burn off the Turkey Run.

Community Recreation & Events manager, Zachary Lambert said, “the weather was great, and we had a good turnout from the community.” He reported that this year’s Burn off the Turkey ‘22 included a record breaking time by Ryan Jara on the men’s side with a time of 15:08 and the first place female finisher was 11 year old Nora Schmidt form Portland.

Jesse Orach (2nd Place) and Tom Nelson (6th place), both GHS Alumni, made top ten finishers on the men’s side. Other top ten male finishers were Christopher Dunn, Craig Robinson, Sean McDonald, Dan Dontbriand, Joshua Lehmann, Justin Brown, and Adam Bourgault. Other top ten female finishers were Laurie Gandrean, Taxia Arabatzis, Emmaline Pendleton, Sarah Plummer, Braedan Olsen, Emily Lesher, Kristin Dechene, Elizabeth Stockwell, and Mandy Bailey.
