GMS Music/Chorus Teacher

The top sixth grade musicians from Gorham, Cape Elizabeth, South Portland, Scarborough, Westbrook, Sacopee Valley, and Bonny Eagle came together for the annual District 1 6th Grade Honors Chorus and Band Festival in Scarborough on March 9.

Gorham Middle School band students Alicia Terry, Cecelia Dellosso, Samuel Merrow, Luciana Orlando, and Logan Walsh were nominated to perform in the Honors Band under the direction of Matt Lagarde.

The Honors Chorus, directed by Jesse Wakeman, included 6th grade students Abigail Chamberlin, Raiyah Babinsky, Makayla Edwards, Amanda Morin, Benjamin Walsh, Payson Plummer, Faith Lara, Anastasia Dolley, Elizabeth Bennett, and Anaiah Brown.

After a full day of rehearsals, the Honors Chorus and Band performed a concert for the public that afternoon. The annual festival is a wonderful opportunity for Gorham students to learn and grow as musicians.
