Sophomore Colin McDonald (GHS ‘21) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies’ baseball team has been named the Maine College Baseball & Softball Association Pitcher of the Week.
McDonald’s recognition is the first of the season for the Huskies’ right-handed pitcher. McDonald earned his first win of the season, leading Southern Maine to a 12-2 win on the road at Rhode Island College in the first game of a Little East Conference doubleheader on Saturday March 22. Allowing just one earned run on six hits and two walks, McDonald struck out seven, and retired eight batters in a row in the middle innings for a dominant performance.
